Stupid teens and children ruining our freedom for us smart teens and children.?

There are things that teens and children do that ruin it for those who are responsible. Examples:

1. The choking game and games related to this, where they end up getting hurt and killing themselves.

2. MySpace and chatsites, where many post sex-related things to attract men or women. Dumb enough to meet strangers they met and mostly all were sexual predators and got themselves hurt and raped.

3. Entertainment, where they listen and do everything in movies, videogames, and music and end up hurting and killing people.

4. Internet, where they watch and see things they aren't even allowed to see in their young lives.

Most of these things were reported on the news and when my parents watch it, it makes me and my siblings less trustable and they think we will do these things. Even though I'm 18, I don't do these things because it's stupid waste of time.

I want to know if you feel the same way or have your trust taken away because of any related to this. What do you feel about this?

Stupid teens and children ruining our freedom for us smart teens and children.?
i know exactly what you mean

i obey my parents and never do stupids things like what you stated but whenever my parents hear about those stupid acts being commited, they automatically think that either i'm doing them too or i'm hanging out with a crowd that does those things. If it werent for those "stupid teens" my parents wouldnt look at me as a bad child and they wouldnt be so strict and i wouldnt end up feeling bad, even though i dont even do those stupid things!
Reply:I know exactly what you mean and how you feel. I put the blame on the parents because most parents of todays society don't care. They don't want to deal w/their teenage children and they'd rather have them out of their sight. "Better seen and not heard" as it goes. And that's why things are so messed up today and it's because of the parents.
Reply:I'm trustworthy and my parents know it.

But in a classroom or similar environment, I totally agree with you.
Reply:i do see your point. But parents are just concered about influence, one kid copies another, who copies another. Youmay not even notice it and it may not be done intentionally. parents and adults, just want us to be safe. I mean look at you you may have changed because your friends have.

I still see your point though, but there are so many "dumb" kids in this world, and then parents jump to conclusions and believe that every teen is like this.

I do know what you're talking about, but adults are just trying to prevent anything else from happening

(i'm only 14)
Reply:this is not just a problem of your generation. it has been a problem for many before and you just have to carry yourself in an honorable and respectable manner. others will see that you are not a cookie cutter cutout of all the BS media hype. they will respect you and trust you. if they don't then that is their problem. you know different and alway carry yourself with the self respect that you should demand from others.
Reply:Yes that unfortunately happens. I'm 23 but I remember very well the stereotypes and crap. Just because 1 group of kids do stupid things doesn't mean everyone does
