Okay, I know it's none of my business and I shouldn't worry about it but I get irritated with all the teenagers who say that they love their boyfriend so much or that they are so in love with this person.
Is there any teenager who's smart enough to know that YOU ARE NOT IN LOVE. It's called infatuation people. Nothing more than a crush. Maybe not in all cases but definitely in 99.9% of them
How many teens actually understand this. And to the ones that do... do you get it naturally or did you have to break up with a person you were "in love with" to realize it was just a teen fling?
Do teens understand true love?
It bothers me to see how much those three words are tossed around these days. I am a teen myself, and I have a boyfriend... but I know I don't love him. I like him a lot, and maybe, just maybe, love will come in time... but we are too young for that right now. I believe that love is better than lust, but not when you are a teen. I don't want to get involved with feelings so powerful just yet.
But what bugs me the most is when I see a boy ask out a girl, and they say that they love each other on the SAME day. Jeez, that's just retarded and stupid.
And I think that it did come to me naturally. Knowing that I do not love in my teen years. I think it was what ended my first relationship. He told me that he loved me, but I just didn't love him. I mean, we were 14. Come on.
Reply:i understand where ur coming at w/ this question...i kno tons of friends (yes, i am a teenager) who say they r so in love, but a week later, they have a new boyfriend...i personally dont get it either, i guess its just to try out different guys and personalities...but i also think that some teens are out looking for "mr perfect", so when they find a guy they like, and he has some kind of imperfection, they arent "in love anymore"...i even question myself sometimes when i tell my boyfriend of 7 months how much i love him...but it always makes me think of why i really do love him and hope it does last...but there really isnt a definite answer for this...i wish i knew myself!
Reply:Yeah I know what you mean, most of the time these relationships won't last through high school. High school is just the time to have fun, date around to see what you like, and focus on school. That person probably won't be the one you end up living with for the rest of your life
Reply:most of the time its their hormones doing the talking and thinking.. i would call it more of an infactuation..{}
Reply:well I'd say in most cases when teenagers say it, it is more than a crush just ( depending on the circumstances not always pure love)
but some of the teenagers mistake love for something else simply because they don't actually know what love is. But i wouldn't say it is true of every one.
Anyway teenage years are for having fun, I don't think it really matters that they say i love you with out meaning it.. they're learning.
Reply:I completely understand this. I have to tell some of my friends this all the time. (I'm eighteen). They always act like its the end of world, when they're so young and have only experienced so much.
Reply:ive had a number of boyfriends and all of them told me they loved me and thats probably what ended the relationship cuz i never would say it back. i didnt love them.
