How many teens would do this, please answer honestly?

I am thinking of starting a group for my community service for teens who need help (depression, abuse, anything). Along with counseling services from other teens and even professionals if needed, they would also form a group and help out in the community to help others and boost self esteem. How many teenagers would actually go for this?

I love it...perhaps you could do a survey...hand them out like flyers ...with an email address to respond with their comments....I'm sure you know you can get free email addresses from yahoo, gmail, etc....even an email address somthing like....teenanswers123@yahoo.com ...etc...
Reply:great idea, but i wouldnt do it. if you do, do it, do it where there are a lot of troubled teens, and where a lot of people know about it
Reply:I'm 52 now, but I would have participated when I was a teen. I have dealt with depression since my teens; if I had access to what you're talking about when I was 15, I might not need the help I'm having to pay for at age 52.

I was a member of a youth group for Gay teens when I was about 16, and many of those kids did just what you are thinking of, aimed at helping other Gay kids who were depressed, abused, or runaways. So, it is possible to find socially conscious teens. The number may not be high relative to the general population of teens who would rather just play with their XBox, but there are sure to be some teens with the same idea and passion as yourself.
