Do Emo teens watch Anime because related to Emo way of life?

Why do Emo teens watch Anime...Does Anime have anything to do with Emo and their way of life...Older parent who needs to know..teen daughter trying to be Emo and telling me Anime has nothing to do with the Emo lifestyle...should I believe her?

Reply:To be honost, no, they aren't even related. Stores like Hot Topic, just sell the things otakus and emo kids like in the same store. Anyways, if anything you should be okay if your daughter is trying to live an emo straight edge life style, because you don't have to worry about drugs, sexx, or booze affecting her. I am an anime fan, I have been since I was 8, I'm 17 now.





The only thing that has gotten pretty bad about the anime culture, has been the new kids, not taking the time to understand that a full understanding of proper grammar. That can be annoying for quite a lot of the older otakus.





Plus most people watch anime because it has a lot of story lines that don't show up in Westernized shows (which seems to be recycling ideas a lot these days).
Reply:Why is this question posted under the LGBT category? Anyway, EMO kids are awesome, but's it's just another title like "Goth" or "Punk." Anime is also awesome, maybe she just really likes Japanese cartoons. It's definately possible, as do 5 million other people. I suggest you worry about more important things, like did she eat lunch today and is she having protected sex. If as a parent all you're worrying about is her cartoon preference, you're lucky.
