Why do teens have kids?

All my friends are around 18-20 years old and they ALL HAVE KIDS. We live in a suburb of Boston MA. Some are even on their second child. I feel like its a tred or they think its cool. only 2 are married out of 30. Why do teens have kids. My friends just don't use protection. I have been with my fiance for 7 year and I am 21 years old. No one sees me having kids yet! I am a nanny so maybe its because I am already raising other peoples children so I know how hard it really is. Why do you think teens have kids?

Sometimes they are not responsible, oh yes its ok to "forget" the protection yet they don't want STD's or pregnancy. Some teens (older ones like 17 etc) can be quite mature and actually bring up the baby in a happy and secure household, its just the teen mothers who are 13 having unprotected sex, getting pregnant and then cannot continue with their education and they can't ever cope with the child and end up giving it up for adoption.
Reply:i had my 1st kid at 16 and my 2nd at 18. the 2nd was accidental i was on the pill. 1st was planned. it was because i was young and nieve and had a crap childhood and wanted to put all my energy into somethin wonderful instead of moping around dwelling on the past. It did help. ive put every last bit of energy into my kids. if i knew then what i know now though i think i would have chose to not have kids in all honesty. I think you dont have kids because like you said your already a nanny and know what kids involve.


I do know alot of teens who see having a child as a trend and your not cool unless your preg, have a kid and the latest pram. Ive been with my bf for 4 years now and both kids are his, im 19.
Reply:I think it shows how irresponsible they can be. I want to be finacially %26amp; mentally able to have children. I want to be able to help my children with their homework, I don't want to say "O I don't know how to do that, I never did that" or "I'm too tired, mommy's busy". I want to be able to be a loving mother. I would love to have a little baby right now, but that would be stupid since I'm only 14.
Reply:A close friend of mine used to be a counselor for Planned Parenthood. The reason that most girls wanted a baby is because they want someone to love them.
Reply:first of all don t go kidding yourself thinking that being a nanny is the same as having your own children because it just isn t i was a nanny and am now a mum. secondly since when has marriage been an obligation to having children? plus 18 to 25 years old has been proved to be the best time (physically) to have children. there is no better accomplishment than children so my thoughts on the matter are get off your high horse for five seconds.
