Should Christian teens go to Prom?

As a Christian teen we are all faced with temptations everyday and Prom is a big question on our minds, should we or should we not go? although adult input is nice i would like to hear what actual christian teens have to say on it

Should Christian teens go to Prom?
Not attending your prom because you feel that the temptation to "misbehave" will be too great is giving in to the worst sort of fear, fear of yourself.

The truth is that if you can't handle behaving yourself at prom, how can you ever hope to act when you're old enough to go out and rent a car, get drunk, and drive over people? See? Once you start drawing lines like that it's hard to stop until you're living locked up in your house.

Temptation is a part of life for everyone, not just Christians. However, most of us are able to control ourselves. Have faith in *yourself* and have a good time.
Reply:Go to the prom. Get used to the idea that temptations are a part of life. Prom is a start of your young adult life. This is just one line that will take you from child to adult. Have fun. Beware of Satan. He eats children alive. Be an adult. Don't fall for his temptations.
Reply:Go and have a good time. You don't have to do bad things to have fun.
Reply:its not what a man does that makes his work sacred or secular, but why he does it.

take a moment and look at why you are going, what you are planning to do before, there, and after; and if you feel that in you will still be honoring God in everything, go ahead. stay safe, of course; but have fun.
Reply:nope! proms are rampant with sexual activity, alcohol and drugs!

and dancing is not innocent! air humping anyone?

:D
Reply:The biggest test is What do your parents and pastor say. They are authorities put in your life and they are with you and personally know what is going on.

I already answered b4 reading properly, didn't realise that you didn't want adults to answer.
Reply:sure,I saw the preachers kid out there. He was having a good time without getting into trouble.

Have fun !!!
Reply:Of course, they are also a human being and it doesn't mean that if your a christian you are deprived of what the world can give, its up to the person what they want to do. They already know between good things and bad one.
Reply:I'm a Christian and I went to my prom. Even Christian schools have prom. All you have to do as a Christian teen is to stand by your principles and do not do something you know to be wrong. God Bless!
Reply:i'm a catholic teen, was a christan, and i say why not? why shouldn't christan teens go 2 prom. is there something bad with proms?
Reply:Gee, kicking out the counsel of adults, hu? I think you should do it. There is nothing inherently evil about dancing (David did it) music (did that too) or turning the lights down (your *church* probably does it). If you are really concerned about setting yourself apart so you won't drink or make out, wear something unusual that helps you witness, or have a talk with your date when you ask them (or answer them) or before you go. It takes more character to talk about what you believe than it does to be a wallflower. Going to prom gives you more chances to speak up.
Reply:Certainly Christian teens should go to the prom. I will tell you that my oldest son didn't go to his prom in 1990 because it prom goers were expected to have sex with their dates on prom night. He wasn't ready to make that commitment so he opted out. I think you can go to the prom, have a wonderful time and not have sex. It's one of the most wonderful nights of your young life. Have fun!
Reply:Yes you can and should go to prom. Sure there are temptations with prom and all of that afterwards. But since you are a Christian, that shouldn't even be something that you would even think about at prom. Go have a fun time with your friends. After prom, go to someone's house and watch movies or go out to breakfast instead of going to parties or other things like that.

However, I am not the decider on this, it is your own personal belief. Go with your gut feeling, make a decision on what you think is right.
Reply:It is such a shame that our parents and their parents and theirs etc, fill us up with this religious brain washing crap. Life is to be enjoyed. How can one enjoy the good things in life, the good thing that god has given. And then have to feel religious giult. It seems we are all damned anyway. what about deformed babies, starving babies and inocent children in africe and many many many many many many many many many many many many many many more. Those that have only just today been born deformed, they have not been to the prom and danced or had sex. If they get gods smelly end of his stick, what chance does anyone else have. Does god love us all, or does he dislike some. Make the most of your life as you see fit, because you are a long time dead.

If you can get god out of your head.

You will be enlightened.
