Question for teens, what's with the sweatshirt hood pullover look and pajama pants?

I don't get it. Teens are really into wearing a sweatshirt with the hood pulled up all the time...even when its hot out or even inside. What's up with that?

Also, what's up with teen girls wearing pajama bottom pants out in public all the time? What's up with that? Are you trying to be fashionable or show how sloppy a dresser you are?

Question for teens, what's with the sweatshirt hood pullover look and pajama pants?
thank you!!!!! i am still in h.s. and also DESPISE the p.j. look. i don't even wear a hoodie sweater unless it's for a club (you, know school pride.) or when i go to my cardio class. hoodies are sooooooooo trashy and i don't understand them. and so are sweatpants. sweatpants are for working out in or lazy moms who never go outside of the house. i don't even like when people only wear running shoes to school. they are not going to run so why wear running shoes?!!!!! when i ask people why would they even consider wearing a goddamn hoodie and p.j.'s they say it's comfy and they are too lazy.. but that's a stupid reason because i wear a dress when i'm too lazy to det dressed. nothing is easier than a dress and you always look good in one. a good dress makes you look like you know how to dress with no real effort. the world, or at least high school, would be a better place if everyone wore a dress instead of p.j.s outside of the house.
Reply:but some of us like to wear our sweatshirt or they could be cold.the answers to the second one is sometimes we get lazy and don't feel like getting dress so we wear our pajamas or we want to be comfortable. but I'm not a fan I think it looks sloppy and they look like bums there are others to be comfortable with looking like a bum
Reply:for one they're comfortable and another thing is don't think you need to judge girls wearing pajama pants. Not all girls that wear pajama pants are sloppy dressers. DUH! sometimes we don't feel good and don't have a choice on going to school or going to get something from the store. Hopefully I didn't come across as rude to you but please don't judge us girls if you don't know what you're talking about or have talked to another girl about it.
Reply:Lol, the sweatshirt over your head is comfy if your tired. And it keeps you warmer and I dont know why we do it other than that. I just do it when I'm tired or bored or lazy...Hmmm, IDK. Never thought about it. And for the pajama pants, I only do it after sleepovers cauz I dont want to look like a slob. If you leave someones house after a slumber party and you just want to go home and sleep you stay in your pj's till you can sleep.
Reply:They're lazy, personally I woulden't wear pj pants ANYWHERE except to bed.
Reply:It is teens way of show off and to be comfortable and casual.
Reply:The majority of teens dont feel like it some days so they give up for a day or a few days and just wear whatever they find. they dont really care. i personally never wear pjs or sweat pants anywhere but home or to the store for milk.
Reply:I haven't really noticed the hood issue, but what's wrong with pajama pants?

Seriously -- as long as the girls are covered and aren't dressing like hos, then I have no problem with it. I can't believe some of the slutty stuff that parents are letting their kids wear these days. My mom would have killed me.

If these girls want to be comfortable in pj pants or sweats, I say more power to them. If they are them to a fancy restaurant or a dinner party -- that's a different story. But to grocery store or to coney island at midnight, who cares?

I can get behind people who want to be judged based on the content of their character instead of their flashy or expensive brand name clothes.
Reply:a)not everyone does that...

b)these people are going for more comfort, not style.

i would be mortified to go out in my pjs but whatever floats your boat...
Reply:I'm a teenage girl myself and don't understand it. I think it looks lazy and last minute, like they just rolled out of bed and are being forced to live life or whatever. There are other ways to dress casual and still feel comfortable.
Reply:it's all about comfort and looking like you just rolled out of bed. teens are trying to make it look like they don't care but really they spent 20 minutes trying to figure out which hoodie went best with the pajama pants they're wearing.
Reply:I don't like the way they dress either, but I guess that's just the fashion...it's been like that for a long time and it will carry on because that's the only 'good look' they can think of...
