This is for teens??

This question is for teens...I was wondering if you could tell me the type of novels you're interested in reading? Or the subject you want to read about (witches, wizards, vampires, fairies, or love, boarding schools, realistic fiction, etc.). I wanted to know because I'm aiming for the teen group in the stuff that I write. Thanks!

This is for teens??
Boarding Schools always make thing better (ie, Harry Potter)

The characters live with eachother, and are distant from their parents. They can sneak around and do lots of stuff without their parents ever finding out.

Personally, I prefer fantasy to anything else. However, there must be a romantic twist underlaid in the plot somewhere. Try not to base the book around romance, many teenagers find that disgusting to read. Also, try not to make it too cliche. The hero saves the girl and they fall in love. BORING!

Also, deaths that affect the major characters lives, decisions, and thoughts are very intriguing toward teens.

Tying all of these together: The hero tries to rescue his love from a great danger. However, being a normal teenager with flaws, he cannot save her. He uses her death as motivation to save the world from evil.

Or if you really want to be impressive, make the girl the hero. I'm tired of the guys getting all of the credit :)

Also, make sure teenagers can relate to what the characters go through on a daily basis (problematic relationships, trouble and stress from school, etc)

I think that's about it :) I hope it helps.
Reply:I like reading about Teen Romance or True Teen Stories

Harry Potter

1st to Die (crime fiction series) by James Patterson

Reply:I love the book series Twilight by Stephenie Meyer! I love reading romance novels with friendship in them. A book featuring a boarding school would be cool!!!

Good look with your stories!!!
Reply:I like reading some of the teen romance novels, like gossip girl, but I like to read mysterys and books that require some thinking at times, too.
Reply:I love to read different kind of books. I like vampire booksw but I also prefer the Dean Koontz books.

Reply:Male teens mostly read action books like the alex rider stuff. Some like reading scary books or books about death.
Reply:vampires

romantic comedies

bording school drama and romance (is also sortive good)

nonfiction

historical nonfiction
Reply:Science fiction but it has to be a mix of Sci-fi, humor (regular kind and the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy kind), chaste romance (very chaste, like G or PG rated, sorry, I'm kind of old fashioned in that subject), and adventure (and not a story like the Disney princess stuff or the old fairy tales stuff, the story is a lot better when the girl in the story actually does stuff and does not just stand around waiting for a handsome prince to risk her).
Reply:Science fiction, humor. I don't really like historical fiction or school dramas. The science fiction I like to read has humor in it (usually somewhat corny), some action (not too gory), some science and some fiction (not quite fantasy...but not quite science textbook).
Reply:i find reading extremly boring because i can't just sit down and read i am too hyper a person and like tv and playing the nintendo wii. I am really bad though because instead of reading a book such as Harry Potter i will wiat until it comes out in the cinema and watch it instead. if you think about it i have an advantege i wont get disapointed if there is something different from the book and the film.
