Do you think teens in this section are a fair representation of all teens in society?

Do you think we're more rebellious? Better behaved? Smarter? Dumber? than the average group of teenagers?








I think most of us are a lot better behaved that teens I've met.

Do you think teens in this section are a fair representation of all teens in society?
wat ive noticed is dat most, not all, teens on dis website r smarter nd more intelligent than average

Reply:I think alot of people are very immature. I can say that it is not fair representation, because most of the people living in society that are teens, are not on this website.





On the other hand, there are people such as you that are mature and that can be trusted, which once again is not teen society, so you are just too mature (good thing).

I think this group has a lot of growing up to do, especially emotionally and mentally!
Reply:Based solely on spelling and grammar, I hope most teens are not like the majority on this site.
Reply:No, because a fair number of questions are 'OMG @M I PR3GGERSS?????!!1' questions, and I doubt there are that many teens in the world that are pregnant. I personally have only seen one in my school.





I think most teens are smarter than most teens on here.
Reply:In a qualitative sense yes. In a quantitative sense, I really don't know. However, regardless, how inane a question, or a response, from an adolescent may appear. Their time spent here, is an improvement over watching MTV.
Reply:I'm not a teen anymore, as some of you know, but I don't think it is. Partly due to the fact that at least some of these 'OmG am i pregnate? he puld out in tyme bt im worreed' questions are trolls, and partly due to the fact that some people will only use this site if they're in trouble - i.e., they'll create an account specially.
Reply:Probably better behaved and smarter. After all, we are trying to help people and make the world a better place. At least, the teens that actually give real advice on ya are.
Reply:I think that the majority of teens that take the time to answer questions (like myself) represent only one group of teenagers. I would say that there is an OK representation of people...a lot of immature 12 and 13 year olds, some obnoxious 15 and 16 year olds, and a lot of in between and of other ages.





I would say that we are the highest of the high and the lowest of the low, so technically it all averages out in the end, I guess.

Reply:The teenagers on here are just like the ones in real life. Some can't spell, some are rude, some are ignorant, and yes a few are very intelligent. Overall I think it's just like the outside, a mixed bag. Of course, it does only represent middle class teenagers, the kid's whose family's income is enough to afford internet access, as some can't. These teenagers are likely to be educated, more so than those who are poor and can't afford education or internet. That said, it WOULDN'T actually be a fair representation, and because the people on here are generally educated and middle class or higher, of course they would seem more intelligent.

There's too many multitudes of questions such as:





"Zomg he licked me do I have aides?!"-the bored teens





"I'm pregnant and don't know how to tell my parents"-the 'average' teens =/





"I almost got into a fite 2day @ skewl wit dis one ho..e"-the bored/uneducated teens





And then there are the teens who ask pretty normal questions like what do you want for Christmas etc. Those are the average. So all in all, I'd say this section is pretty diverse.

Reply:it seems like the rebellious, irresponible, and just stupid teenagers wont 'waste' their time trying to help others. So i think we are wiser and more responsible, not quite rebellious.
