Teens and adults in your day to day life do you see a lot of prejudice towards gays/lesbians?

At my highschool its not really a problem. Noone bothers people due to their sexual preferences and they are not judged or harassed. My step uncle was murdered because he was gay. It was a terrible hate crime.I just dont understand how anyone could ever take someone else's life and especially for that reason. In my opinion everyone should be treated equally and you should like people for what their like not who they like.

As a bisexual woman the only prejudice I encounter comes from very religious people, usually older people. Unfortunately, straight girls often pretend to be bisexual to garner attention from immature boys, playing into the lesbian fantasy. I find it insulting to women who truly are gay and bisexual.

I see more prejudice toward gay and bisexual men. There's more of a stigma surrounding male-male relationships, and it's ridiculous and homophobic.

Love is love. Gender has no say in it.
Reply:my school doesn't care about it either. We have a lot of gays (not sure about lesbians) but I know the gay guys are open and they are the coolest people. No one cares or makes fun if them, they are treated equal. I really like it too, it is aout time people realize it doesn't matter. Except my mom, she thinks it is gross. I told her it isn't even a big deal and I think they should get married but she always says she doesn't want to see it. It is stupid, next time I will tell her "then don't look, duh." maybe something not as lame but you get the idea!
Reply:yes and it drives me MAD i screamed the head off a guy one day cause he tripped a gay man up cause he and his partner where being coupley. it was actually kinda fun venting lol.
Reply:i think theres a lot less prejeduice compared to awhile ago. its more accepted now. its still there, from the homophobic people lol. but yeah, besides that, i don't see it anymore.
Reply:Most people are cool with it, but theres a few people who joke about it and most of them are guys who you can tell are seriously homophobic. I guess thats the norm, though. My friend is because she's a Jehovah's Witness. I try not to change her because she's so devoted to her religion.
Reply:I'm sorry to hear that, that has been happining for

a long time and it may not be able to be stoped,

i don't see it a lot, but i do see that, like people

saying "oh, you're so gay" like if it was bad to

be gay and it offends gay people, then they start

feeling ashamed of being gay, i'm not gay but I

do respect gay people that have the courage to

come out and say it ♥
Reply:Me personally I do not agree with someone being gay.But I think we as people should treat others equally and fairly. Therefore the murder of your uncle is horrible and not dissevered of anyone regardless of race, gender, orientation,or creed.

Sorry about your uncle
Reply:Yes, I see a lot of prejudice towards gay/bi/lesbians. It's quite sad actually. I also want to see how people respond to this question cause I'd like to defend Gay Rights. Having a different sexual preference doesn't mean anything to the person you are.

Maybe people just don't like difference and difference is change.
Reply:It is more accepted now than it was a while ago. A few years ago I was much more prejudice than I am today. I think that anyone who loves another person no matter who or what they are should be able to get married.
Reply:im not gay myself or believe in being homosexual but everyone i know is totally cool towards gays/lesbians. and i accept them as well. i have a few friends who are, and some who act like they are =P and friens who have gay friends. actually my best frineds bf is a bi, so there you go =)

sry about your uncle by the way -_-
Reply:I was raised by lesbians. When (in middle school) people found out, I was picked on a little. But after a while, they realized, my moms are awesome, and there's nothing wrong or weird about it!
Reply:when i came out i lost a lot of "friends" i live in the desert with a lot of people who still think its wrong so yeah my partner and i get a lot of looks or comments. but we just make jokes about them
Reply:its thier fault for CHOOSING to be gay
