Politics and us teens??

Good start regarding politics and youth? Editorial I'm writing.

Most teens, and young adults, would rather watch grass grow, than watch potential presidents duke it out on issues with no importance to them. Currently, its difficult to find someone that is not involved with the Presidential Elections. Especially this one, since it is historical, because an African American and a woman are running, and are getting the attention from us. They are Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton who are the potential nominee’s in the Democratic Party. The Republicans have John McCain, who is unofficially the nominee. Also in the Republican Party is Mike Huckabee, who is favored by many, but not as much as McCain. Only recently, an Independent named Ralph Nadar announced his run for President. Those are the three parties with candidates. Each candidate has characteristics that appeal to Americans, young and old. Even some teens, like myself are politically interested, even though we cannot vote, yet.

I'm not sure exactly what you're question is but I'll try to comment. This kind of activity and involvement was forecasted in The Fourth Turning by Neil Strauss and William Howe. I think it's great teens are finally thinking but it would be nice if more teens were thinking more than just listening to rhetoric (oh, well sometimes there's only so much you can hope for). Often times (at least in my experience) kids if motivated have a lot of influence on their parents vote. Although teens can't vote they can still participate in most the influential ways, like writing or discussing with others. Enjoy the journey!
