Is it a bad idea to give teens the option of emancipation at the age of 16?

Reply:It's a good idea depending on the situation. If I was a child actor or making money/famous I would get emancipated. If you are a child prodigy and graduate from High School at 11 years old or just earlier then normal I think you should have the option to be emancipated. Also if you are in an abusive situation you should have the option. I guess I'm saying it should be available but it should still have restrictions.
Reply:Only if they have a track record of handling their own affairs in a responsible manner otherwise,no! .Most of the cases that i am aware of personally or read about,the adults had proved to be the irresponsible ones for various reasons.
Reply:if your parents are douches...then I think emancipation is the way to go...

Depends. If they are being abused or mistreated at home, then yes.





Otherwise, no. They can't even vote or make a real living unless they are a child actor.
Reply:I think it should always be an option...I don't see the big deal of waiting two extra years, but some kids can't stand their parents, so...
