Why are teens alllowed to drive motorcycles?

My question is why are teens allowed to drive motorcycles, i am a teen and my mom bought me a bike and i still wonder how can california allow that. I mean i love it cause i can legally drive a motorcycle at age 16 which i couldnt in a car only to school but with a bike the motorcycle permit allows you too ride by yourself but no freeway or night riding. I find that weird i have had proper training at MSF and drivers training and school i am well aware of the dangers and i thinks its just funny.

I think i would be more safer in a car i dont like cars ive always like motorcycles but how can the government think a motorcycle is more safe then a car, WOW is all i have to say.

what do you fellow people think? isnt that funny

also i live in california my insurance is 40 bucks for basic liability. My bike is a 1992 ninja that now has 5000 miles when i got it , it had 3000 so now 6 months with my bike i am 2000 miles experienced and i am now 17 and a senior WHEW! i love California!

Why are teens alllowed to drive motorcycles?
Good question. I am not sure I like the idea of newbie on a motorcyle, but hey, at least the talking on the cell phone and messing with the radio won't happen (I hope)! I think the cc allowance is a good idea, kind of like our driver's ed graduated system. It is way more dangerous than in a car, but then again, a car accident can kill more people at the same time. We have had a lot of teen car accidents in my area with multiple fataIities. One 15-year-old drove without a license from a party and killed the two other girls in the car. Both are a big responsibility. I appreciate the fact that you actually realize the irony of this - smart thinking.
Reply:Because we have to many of them. Also we need the then for experiment's.
Reply:The same reason the are allowed to drive cars so they can go to work and go on dates.
Reply:(people that make laws) = (people that have drivers) = (people that don't drive)
Reply:Better organ donars.
Reply:Just old laws from back in the day but who cares as long as you get to ride
Reply:Because it's an easy way to weed out the defective genetic material that we don't want replicating itself.
Reply:If you are considered an adult at the age of 18, 16 is an acceptable age to start allowing some responsibility. I personally think the states should have CC limits for the inexperienced driver requiring you to have a years experience before stepping up to a larger displacement bike, but hey everyone has opinions :)

I started riding motorcycles around the age of 12 and I have been without injury for more than 15 years now I think its all about respect drive careful and wear your helmet!
